MAJOR SPOILERS FOR AGE OF ULTRON SO IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED IT DON’T READ ON
In a recent post-release interview for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Joss Whedon has revealed that he filmed an ending to the film with a very different outcome. For anyone that has seen the film you can probably already guess the change. Yes in the alternative ending Quicksilver does not die but remains alive and running, presumably going on to join the other new Avengers.
Joss Whedon described the scene to Empire as written below:
We did actually shoot him in the last scene, in an outfit, with his sister. We also shot him, waking up, saying, ‘Ah, I didn’t really die from these 47 bullet wounds!’ Actually, we shot something else with that, but… maybe I’ll let you know about that later. But the intent was to earn this, and then you have to stand by it.
Joss Whedon has previously stated that Age of Ultron’s Blu-Ray release will contain several deleted scenes and possibly even the alternate ending itself.
So why didn’t they use it? We’re not sure, given that he was only introduced in the same movie killing him off just didn’t hold as much weight as if one of the well-loved Avengers had died but we guess someone had to die and he was the least important.
So what do you make of the alternate ending to the movie? Is it better with him still being alive? Let us know your thoughts and as always for all the latest news, review and features on the comic book world keep checking back with The Big Glasgow Comic Page
