AMC’s Preacher Casts it’s lead with Iron Man’s dad
Following on from earlier rumours that Dominic Cooper (Agent Carter, Captain America) was going to be attached to AMC’s upcoming comic book adaptation Preacher it has now been confirmed that he will in fact be playing the lead role of Jesse Custer.
The pilot is being developed by Seth Rogen, along with long time collaborator Evan Goldberg, which meant Seth himself was the one who was able to break the news on Twitter earlier today:

AMC have now officially ordered a pilot of the series which is based on the Vertigo/DC Comics run of the same name. The Preacher pilot which has been penned be Breaking Bad veteran Sam Catlin should go to filming and testing soon, and knowing what AMC are now capable of we have almost no doubt that we will be seeing the full series air some time next year.
Reports from Deadline say that the show was only able to sing Cooper following a very lengthy negotiation process. Cooper is no stranger to comic book adaptations having previously starred in Captain America: The First Avenger and with a recurring role of Agent Carter, both as Tony Starks father – Howard Stark.
Dominic Cooper’s casting as Jesse Custer finally round out the casting which includes Ruth Negga as Jesse’s ec-girlfriend Tulip, Ian Colletti as Arseface (not a typo), Joseph Gilgun as his vampire friend Casey and Lucy Griffiths as Emily, a original character created just for the show.
So what did you make of Dominic Cooper landing the lead role? Are you looking forward to the Preacher TV series if it comes to air? Is there simply going to be too many comic book related TV shows on? Whatever your thoughts please let us know below or on Twitter/Facebook.
