We’ve reached the apex of the list and now it’s the best of the best. Did your favourite land a place in the top 10?
Despite the less-than-stellar finale, Gertrude’s new role as queen of Fairyland seemed to be setting up an exciting and different second arc.
#16 may not be the most exciting or dramatic Rat Queens outings, but it hardly disappoints. While this outing isn’t particularly plot-driven, the dialogue and illustration are sharp and it is always a wild trip with these women. The absence of Hannah, however, is certainly felt.
With its emphasis on dialogue and background explanation, Rat Queens #14 may feel slow compared to the frantic pace of previous, action heavy outings, even if laying the ground work is important for story development; but as always, the characters are so amiable and rich that even a slower issue fails to make Rat Queens any less enjoyable read.
