Bitch Planet #6 is as thought-provoking, challenging and beautifully illustrated as always. It may not have the bite and black humour readers have come to love in previous outings, but the themes and stories explored are important and remind us that the series is an important platform to challenge issues like sexual assault and misogyny.
The art work, story and dialogue compliment each other perfectly, channelling old school exploitation movies and pulp fiction and futuristic sci-fi to achieve a perfect cautionary dystopic tale. Bitch Planet is darkly funny, provocative and beautifully illustrated. Astute and thoroughly engaging, it is Image’s best title published today.
Bitch Planet #3 is yet another outstanding addition to what is by far the funniest, most biting and well-crafted comic currently published. The dialogue may be wickedly funny and satirical, but it is rooted so deeply in reality that there’s a chilling reminder behind every joke: this isn’t a distant, fictional dystopia, rather a heightened reflection of the world around us.
