The Flash & Supergirl Are Officially Going To Crossover

After months of rumours of the two superhero series potentially crossing over it seems that we finally are going to see The Flash and Supergirl together on the small screen. According to Grant Gustin will be appearing as Barry Allen/The Flash on Supergirl next month!

Grant’s Flash will be heading to Supergirl’s National City on the series’ March 28th episode. No details of the episode have been released yet but we would hope that the Flash gets a little more than a small cameo role. The Flash and Supergirl executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kriesberg had this to say:

We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we started making Supergirl – The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up! We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros, and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worth of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.

Most fans assumed this was the closest we we would ever get to a crossover

Now this expands the Flash/Arrow/Legends Universe into a much larger one that includes the likes of Supergirl and Superman along with the Martian Manhunter and everyone we have yet to meet on Supergirl. We know the crossover will have something to do with Barry being able to travel through dimensions as it wouldn’t make much sense if they already existed in the same world(surely the fact aliens are a thing would have come up on Arrow or Flash by now).

One possibility is that the Barry Allen we see in the episode is a future version of the character who has mastered both time and dimensional travel, this would be ideal for the crossover as it wouldn’t have to affect the current Flash storyline in any way but given the nature of the 2 shows there are a hundred ways they could crossover.

So what do you think? Are you happy about this crossover happening? How do you think they will do it? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook/Twitter. As always thanks for reading and remember to check out the Supergirl episode that airs March 28th.
