Tom Hiddleston has become one of the most loved stars of the Marvel Universe, having created a charismatic and lovable incarnation of a character who was previously considered as outright evil. Despite this, Hiddleston has revealed in a recent interview with Coming Soon to promote his new film, Crimson Peak, that he is unsure of his place in Marvel’s future.
After being asked if Loki will become more evil in future films, Hiddleston explained that he is unsure when Loki will next make an appearance on the big screen.
“You know, I don’t know. I think I won’t be able to help it if I ever play him again, and I just don’t know when that’s gonna happen, if that’s gonna happen. I would never lose his dimension, but it’s so interesting. I’ve talked with Chris Hemsworth, how those characters have changed as we’ve changed. It’s five years ago since I played him for the first time. That’s a long time ago. So who knows what I’ll be cooking up!”
Whilst this doesn’t mean that Loki won’t be back for the next installment of Thor, or for any other upcoming Marvel films, it is possible that Hiddleston just hasn’t received his call for Thor: Ragnarok. Or that we’re just plain not allowed to know yet!
Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters in 2017.
